The Guinness World Record I am attempting is Fastest Longboarding Journey across North America. My goal is to make it across from my home town of Falmouth, Massachusetts to Los Angeles, California in under four months.
We people have only been allowed to survive on this planet for so long due to our craftsmanship, ingenuity, and the will to get what needs to be gotten, done. We are now nearing the end of the Industrial Age and coming to the new age of oh lets just call it the Robotic Age. I'm not saying its a bad thing that we have become so intelligent that we have built super computers. However, since we can have our IPhones and Androids, Tablets and Garmins do anything we need them to do we have become lazy! In New York City you can now have a whatever kind of McHamburger you like delivered to your apartment. Fast food and chain franchises are the reasons why obesity kills 300,000 people a year!
What I want to do with this is reignite the fire that once fueled this country. Siri can't describe to you how beautiful a sunset is. The British guy on the Garmin won't tell you to pull over and take in the the staggering height of the Rocky Mountains. We must get up and out and experience this for ourselves. Instead of letting technology do all the work, use them as tools to do amazing things.

"As the young spend less and less of their lives in natural surroundings, their senses narrow, physiologically and psychologically. Nature - the sublime, the harsh and the beautiful - offers something that the street or gated community or computer game cannot" Richard Louv.
